The first field day in the CMC Homeschool Learning Lab Enrichment Series! This session will be held at Brainerd Lakes Recreation Area and teach in-the-field Avalanche Science & Safety.

Join CMC Youth Programs for an exciting day of snow science and avalanche safety at Brainerd Lakes Recreation Area! Students will learn about snow science, build avalanche pits, and spend the day snowshoeing in protected forest land. (This offering could supplement Physical Education or Science classes)
- Who: Students in Middle and High School
- When: Tuesday, January 13th (2026), 10:00am-2:00pm
- What: Avalanche Safety, Snow Science, Snowshoeing
- Where: Brainerd Lakes Recreation Area
- Cost: $110/non-member participant, $100/member participant
Registration Guidelines:
- All participants must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to participate.
- All participants must have an adult chaperone. Only one adult chaperone per group is needed. (for example, if you are transporting 4 participants, you can act as the adult chaperone for all 4 participants)
Adult chaperones are responsible for:
- Knowing of any allergies and handling any medications the participants may need during the program.
- Handle outlying behavioral issues that detract from the activity
- Listen to and reinforce safety guidelines outlined by instructors
- Supervise lunch and transitions during the day
