A Route to More Engaged Adult Learners
with John Lyons
Think of some of the learning experiences you have had as an adult. Which ones were good? Which ones were not? Above all, which ones gave you the most knowledge? This course will convey some easy to remember tips and tricks for engaging adult learners. It has ideas that can be applied by both classroom instructors and trip leaders. After the class your audience will retain more, while both leaders and participants will have more fun.
While John's whole career has been in Information Technology, he gravitated towards people-centric roles. His first teaching experience was as a Microsoft Certified Trainer in the late 90s. He then moved on to Team Leader, Project Manager, and Learning Consultant. He decided to expand his formal training on the subject and received his Master's of Education in 2012. Throughout these years John also had a passion for the outdoors, and enjoys hiking, running, biking, and climbing. He has been a CMC member for just over a year and is looking forward to many more great adventures with the group.
