This completes the learning from the online components and applies them in the field.

The field exercise allows students to use slope meters to determine potential avalanche-prone terrain and non-prone avalanche terrain as well as to determine route findings. These techniques can be taught with or without snow conditions.

This field day is for Western Slope Group leaders who have applied for a Leadership Scholarship and have completed the online ATA course through Coassemble. 

Time: meet at the parking area at 10am 

Parking: island lake pull out close to grand mesa lodge 

For those who want to carpool: plan to meet and leave the public lot west of AutoZone in Montrose at 8:45am
