This completes the learning taking the online components and applying them in the field.
Before departing, CMC Leaders will participate in a 1-2 hour lecture that solidifies learning principles in the online portion. Following the lecture, participants will caravan to the field portion.
The field exercise allows students to use slope meters to determine potential avalanche-prone terrain and non-prone avalanche terrain as well as to determine route findings. These techniques can be taught with or without snow conditions.
If you do not own snowshoes or poles, do not purchase them. We will borrow them from the Beginning Snowshoe School. Snowshoes for women and men with poles and winter baskets.
