Climbing Course
TCS Basic Climbing Equivalency WAIVER
The waiver will take place between 6PM-7PM at the CMC Climbing Wall in Golden. Please try and arrive at 6PM if you do not have a climbing partner enrolled with you. This is NOT a skills refresher. We expect you to show up and demonstrate proficiency in all of the skills we teach in our Basic Climbing Class. Equivalency is for experienced climbers who have not taken CMC Climbing courses. It's an opportunity for those climbers to waive out CMC' Basic Climbing class to gain access to more advanced CMC climbing courses and participate in CMC Top-Rope Climbing Trips.

You’ll be expected to demonstrate:
- How to use climbing helmet, harness, belay device, safety leash
- How to tie into the rope using a Figure Eight Retrace
- How to tie a Double Stopper Knot, Clove Hitch, Girth Hitch
- How to top rope belay using Pull-Brake-Under-Slide method
- How to use climbing commands
- How to coil a climbing rope
**There is online course content that can be viewed prior to completing the waiver. The instructor will email you approximately 1 week prior to the waiver with additional information and a link to the online content. If you do not receive an email from the instructor and it is less than a week before your class, please email them to make sure you have the correct information.
