This is an elective scrambling trip for the NoCo Alpine Scrambling Course. Students must complete three elective scrambling trips in order to graduate and earn the appropriate Badge.
NOTE: Priority is given to CMC ASC students. If you are not a student you will be waitlisted and added to the roster if there is space available prior to the trip.
We'll start from the Glacier Gorge trailhead and hike on trail to the intersection above Loch lake. From there we will take a right fork to a more rugged trail and head up to Andrews Tarn and the top of the snowfield. At that point we will determine based on time, weather and snow conditions to return or continue on to Taylors Peak (Class 1/2). The route up the gulley is steep, with snow and/or loose rock. We'll return the same way. If there is time and conditions are right, we may practice self arrests and glissades.
