Climbing Anchor Course - Northern Colorado
Students will learn to build safe and secure climbing anchors using fixed protection, natural features, and removable protection such as stoppers and cams. You will learn how to build anchors suitable for top-roping, rappelling, and climbing.

Students will learn to build safe and secure climbing anchors using fixed protection, natural features, and removable protection such as stoppers and cams. You will learn how to build anchors suitable for top-roping, rappelling, and climbing.
There will be three sessions in the course. An initial classroom session will introduce the equipment and basic principles in anchor building. Hands-on instruction and practice in building anchors will be done in two evening sessions.
Anchor Course Application: You must apply to sign up for this course. Send an email to Dean Allison at dallison@frii.com indicating interest and an application form will be sent to you. The completed form must be returned to dallison@frii.com by February 23rd. We will notify you by Feb. 26th if you are admitted to the course or on the stand-by list.
To earn the Basic Anchors badge, students must complete the course by attending all three activities.
