PPG BMS - Basic Rock Scrambling Field Day – Ute Valley Park
This course is the first course in the Pikes Peak Group's Basic Mountaineering School (BMS) curriculum. Basic Rock Scrambling consists of a set of skills that fill a gap between on or off-trail hiking and technical climbing. Skills include assessing hazards and decision making, scrambling techniques, assessing and choosing off-trail routes in scrambling terrain.

Day One. Initial skills practice session to be conducted in Ute Valley Park. The focus will be balance, foot work, and hand holds. Students will need all the required equipment.

We will meet in Ute Valley Park at 8a.
Required Equipment
Required: certified climbing helmet, and ten essentials.
Recommend: scrambling/approach shoes and work gloves
