The CMC's Avalanche Awareness Education Program and the Boulder Risk Management School is hosting a small-group discussion centered on two videos from the CO Snow and Avalanche Workshop (CSAW) 2026. Ian McCammon (who developed FACETS) speaks on "Beyond Better Decisions: Managing Emergent Risk in Avalanche Terrain" followed by Dr Sara Boilen's presentation "Talk Less, Listen More: Psychological Safety and Candor in the Mountains." We will pause for group discussion after each video and then have a general group discussion on human factors and decision-making in avalanche terrain. The group is being kept deliberately small to facilitate discussion, additional sessions may be scheduled if there is enough demand.
