Advanced Snowshoe – South Twin Cone Peak

This is a replacement trip for Windy Peak due to road closure and late season snowfall. We will snowshoe up a combination of jeep road, social trails, and off-trail to the summit of South Twin Cone Peak. As of May 8, OpenSnow.com shows 8" snow depth at the trailhead and 33" at the summit. If the conditions are better than expected and the group feels up to it, we can add on North Twin Cone Peak and Mount Blaine. After enjoying lunch and the expansive views of South Park and surrounding mountains, we will descend South Twin Cone's Southwest Ridge. We will likely need snowshoes. Optional stop at Snowpack Taproom afterwards.
