This is a 1-night BEGINNER backpack - with time spent reviewing and reinforcing skills relating to carrying loads, selecting campsites, purifying water, storing food, cooking food, and evaluating the terrain and mitigating hazards to enjoy the outdoors safely while self-supported in the backcountry.
We will observe the Leave No Trace principles carefully to be good outdoor citizens and neighbors.

We are meeting at the North Cottonwood Creek Trailhead at
9:30am at the trailhead sign at the end of the road/parking area.
There are usually porta-potties at the TH.
Be sure to secure your vehicle and hide any valuables from sight.
From Colorado Springs, travel via Highway 24 to Buena Vista.
Then to Crossman Ave in Buena Vista, then Co Rd 350, Co Rd 365 and
