The Crags Campground  is managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife at State Forest State Park (VC is 970-723-8366.)

Campground elevation is 10,000'

Each vehicle requires an annual or daily CO state parks pass in addition to campsite reservations

Facilities include: tent pad, water pump, vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring

This is moose country. Expect to see Moose daily, in or near our camp

No cell coverage

Do not plan on campfires (to be determined)

$30 non-refundable campsite fee is due to trip leader upon registration by check, Venmo or Paypal

Parking limitation, 1 vehicle per campsite

Round trip driving mileage from Golden: 280 miles

Baseline Carpool Fee (280X$0.30/3) = $28 / rider. Each driver may set their own fee. I personally prefer $0.50 a mile, but $0.30 is CMC policy. Fewer riders means higher fees for each. Please bring cash for drivers.

Jackson County sheriff, 970-723-4242

Nearest ER: 1000 Granby Park Dr. So., Granby, 970-887-5800 (about 1+30 from The Crags Campground, Ft. Collins is 15 minutes farther.)

Leader recommends two cars for six campers, three per car, and arrangements made for drivers to pickup riders at their homes (this is preferred to overnight parking in public places.)

Leader requests no solo drivers, no meeting at campground (we'll meet and convoy from a rendezvous point), and no early departures. This is a group event. Leader requests that all members stay with group throughout the trip.

To optimize scenic rides to and from the campground, leader recommends driving up via Ft. Collins then hwy 14 and returning via Walden and Granby. Each direction is about the same driving time. Completely different scenery. Walden is a great lunch stop.

Members of other CMC Groups are welcome to join this trip. Considerations will be given to accommodate you.

Leader will make monthly contact with the roster, then final details offered at one-month, two-weeks, one-week, and two-days before departure.
