This trip is open-ended and exploratory. The trip will evolve day by day. Leader has not been to many of these places.
You must be comfortable walking in and out of water, scrambling over obstacles, and squeezing through tight places in canyons. You must be comfortable if a rope assist is needed; however class 5 climbing/rapelling is not planned.
We will do some day hikes and possibly some 1 - 2 night backpacks. Please be prepared for hiking, scrambling and/or backpacking.
I may not send out e-mails prior to the hike unless I plan to cancel or change something.
By signing up for this trip you agree to have your e-mail address shared with other participants and photos of you shared in Facebook or other media. If you decide to cancel, you agree to do so yourself using the CMC website, and to not contact the leader unless the trip is already closed. If you have to cancel after the trip is closed for registration, please TEXT the leader at 303-888-0559 by 7:00 am the morning of the trip.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact the leader at least 5 days in advance of the trip start date.
If you have any known medical conditions that may manifest themselves during this activity, please notify the leader via e-mail prior to the trip. If you have known exposure to a COVID-positive case within 5 days of this trip, please do not come. Do not come if you are sick.

HANS FLAT:
- Moonshine, maybe easy rope work (1)
- Spur Fork, access road questionable, possible easy rope (1)
- Upper Happy Canyon, French Spring Fork (1)
- Angel Trail E. side down to river (2-3)
SAN RAFAEL SWELL
- Muddy Creek “Chute” car shuttle (1, possibly 2)
- Several around Hidden Splendor - Chimney, Ramp/Cistern, Knotted Rope, Mud C. (1)
HEADING SOUTH
- Trachyte Canyon loop, probably Woodruff and Maidenwater. (2-3 depending on day hike)
- Muley Twist, camp in big “cowboy cave”, carry water for one night (2)
ESCALANTE EAST off Burr Trail and Wolverine Loop
- Little Death Hollow and Wolverine, camp in Horse Canyon, possible day hike west to The Gulch (2-3)
- Deer Creek and The Gulch loop, “tanks” drainage etc. (2-3)
- Sheffield Road and Spencer Canyon (1- 2)
- Silver Falls Cr. (1)
S OF ESCALANTE
- Round Valley Draw and upper Hackberry (1)
- Yellow Rock (half day)
- Lower Hackberry/Paria and Sam Pollack Arch (1-2)
- Bull Run and way-upper Paria (1)
- Upper Paria off Cottonwood road, WWII spy cabin (1)
- Kitchen Canyon and movie set (1)
WHITE CANYON
- Cheesebox (1+)
- Hideout etc. (1)
CEDAR MESA
- Pine and Step loop off U-95 (2)
- East Slickhorn (1-3)
- Mule Canyon loop both forks (1)
We will meet in Green River, UT at 5:30 PM on October 6 at Ray’s Tavern (just south of main street west of the Green River bridge), on Broadway) at about 5:00 if you want to eat (Ray’s is known for burgers), or show up at 5:30. We will leave Green River and drive south towards our first hike, which will likely be Moonshine Wash. If you want to carpool, please let leader know via text or email.

Required Equipment
10 essentials, day pack, backpacking pack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping bag, cookware, water filter for shallow water.
Shoes for walking in water.
High clearance all wheel or four wheel drive vehicle.
Radio if you have it.
Lightweight, short climbing rope if you have it.
Food and enough water for the trip.
