NOTE:  This is a popular program.  If there is a wait list, join it and we'll try to add another Trip Leader.

NOTE: Please do not sign up for this trip unless you fully intend to participate on trip day.  DO NOT sign up for more than one trip while you “decide which one to take.”  Your Trip Leader and AH Coordinators put a lot of effort into planning this trip.  Last minute cancellations and no-shows are very discouraging and, in sufficient numbers, may jeopardize the program.  SO, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS TRIP UNLESS YOU FULLY INTEND TO PARTICIPATE ON TRIP DAY.

Starting this May, the Denver Member Initiatives Committee (DMIC) is pleased to offer the fourth annual Ascending Hikes series.  It is designed for CMC members of all ages wanting to increase (or recover) hiking speed and stamina.  The series also provides an opportunity to meet CMC veterans, make new friends, and explore more of Colorado's hiking trails.  The AH series provides everyone a supportive way to work on their day hiking skills.

Hikes start off easy and gradually progress in length and difficulty so you're ready to tackle a new challenge by the end of summer.  We’ll even offer a couple of high peak climbs just for AH Participants at the end of the season!

No big commitment. You can jump in or out anytime.

I-70 west past Idaho Springs, exit and right on Fall River Road to the end where there is pay parking ($5) and access to St. Marys Glacier on way to James Peak

I will write you with a weather forecast the day before. Do not assume bad weather means the trip is canceled. We only cancel if the roads are treacherous. We just try to dress appropriately.
