Meet at 6:15 for a no later than 6:30 PROMPT departure at the CoorsTEK parking lot directly across from the CMC building in Golden.  Here’s a link to it in Google Maps ( https://goo.gl/maps/VLqhSXXK5D52 ).

If you live on the northside, an option for you is to meet us at Sandstone Park in Lyons -https://goo.gl/maps/6SpkaY9ZVQpBcC8G7 - at 7:30am.

The Trailhead is the Storm Pass Trailhead on the Bear Lake road in RMNP. Here’s a Google Maps link to it: https://goo.gl/maps/UpQ9djgzS16GVniT6   We should arrive at the Storm Pass trailhead at around 8:30am.

This trip was originally scheduled for Friday May 19th, but was rescheduled due to a poor weather forecast and trail conditions.

From the Storm Pass trailhead, we will head south on the Boulder Brook Trail, then take the North Longs Peak Trail to Granite Pass.  From Granite Pass we will head northeast along the ridge line to catch all of the summits of Battle Mountain, then will head down the hill to the Storm Pass Trail near Storm Pass.  Then we will follow the Storm Pass Trail back to the Storm Pass Trailhead.

This is considered a difficult hike due to the 3600' elevation gain.  Most of it is on established trails, but the portion from Granite Pass along Battle Mountain's many summits down to Storm Pass is off trail.  There is some Class 2 scrambling on one or two of Battle Mtn's summits.

At this time of year, we may need our microspikes and possibly even snowshoes for a portion of the trip depending on the snowpack at that time.

And, of course, bring your 10 essentials
