Hiking – Battle Mountain Traverse

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at CMC Parking Lot at 6:30AM for an 6:45AM departure (American Mountaineering Center - Google Maps)

We'll carpool to the Longs Peak TH parking lot (Longs Peak Trailhead - Google Maps)

An additional carpool location is possible for people traveling from the north.

We'll begin our on-trail/off-trail adventure to Battle Mountain at the popular Longs Peak Trailhead. At about the 2 mile mark we'll veer off and make our way off-trail. The off-trail path to Battle Mountain demands a greater level of skill and endurance. We'll find our way through dense forests and rugged, rocky terrain, requiring proficient navigation. The off-trail journey involves bushwhacking through thick vegetation and scrambling over boulders, offering solitude and a sense of exploration. Upon reaching the summit, we'll be rewarded with unparalleled, unobstructed views of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker, as well as the serene, untouched wilderness below. The combination of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery will make this off-trail adventure a truly memorable experience. We'll stop near/at the summit for lunch/snack. Our pace will be comfortable for all participants. Overall ~7 miles and ~2600 ft elevation gain. (Battle Mountain - CalTopo)
