Much of this hike is off-trail on alpine tundra and along the Continental Divide ridge to Hagar Mountain. The summit pitch of Hagar Mountain has some Class 3 scrambling, however, so we will bring our helmets on this trip. The return trip will be back south along the Continental Divide ridge over Golden Bear to above the Eisenhower Tunnel, where we will follow the well-established Upper Straight Creek trail back down to the trailhead.

Meet at Wooly Mammoth - Section BB, across from the Exxon gas station, at 7:00am, so we can form carpools and leave no later than 7:10am. Here’s a Google Maps link to the “Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride”: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ureNbXygtrukNp8fA
The trailhead for this hike is the Upper Straight Creek Trailhead, on the west side of the Eisenhower Tunnel, north-side of I-70. Here’s a Google Maps link for the trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GowG64CbD6bP6WwG8
