Hiking – Lower Spring Creek Canyon car shuttle, dog friendly

Well behaved leashed dogs welcome as there is cactus along the trail. Expect mud and possibly snow patches at the start. I will be bringing my small dog.

Less than 9 miles and 1900' loss and the gain is, of course, at the end of the hike getting out of the canyon.

Meet at the Lower Spring Creek trailhead SW of Montrose on Dave Wood Road at 830am. High clearance 4WD would be a good idea to carpool to the top trailhead at Simms mesa, otherwise we'll have to add a bit of mileage.
