The Nightbird Gulch Trail is fairly rocky, but the trail is well-maintained. The trail faces the south side of the mountain so the sun can be intense in the day time hours. It is a little longer than the Cedar Gulch Trail, but offers more views of downtown Denver and the surrounding front range. There likely will be a lot of flowers. However, there is limited shade on this hike.
On a Saturday the park will be crowded, so expect a lot of hikers--but no bikers as this is a pedestrian-only park. Note: there are no restrooms on this hike.
This is a CMC Bobcats trip, but everyone is welcome. The Bobcats’ mission is to ensure a variety of adventurous CMC trips, mostly on weekdays, all year long. Our trips tend to be faster-paced, on more challenging routes, and with fewer stops. We foster a strong community of hikers seeking challenge, discovery, and camaraderie. We don’t have dues or elections and we invite ALL CMC members to sign up for any Bobcat trip.
