Hiking – Orbital Trail - Segment 22
For Rocky Mountain Over the Hill Gang members ONLY. We will hike Segment 22 of the Denver Orbital Trail (DOT) which takes us on paved paths and neighborhood sidewalks through Thornton. We walk past the Marshall Reservoir and along the Ditch and Signal Ditch trails. We will continue slightly into Segment 23 as there is better parking there.

The DOT is a walking route that makes a full circle around Denver. We are hiking segment 22 and the first half mile of segment 23. There are bathrooms at the beginning and a couple of spots along the way.
This route is exploratory for the trip leaders.
Carpool: Since the distance between trailheads is short and half of us will be driving, there will be no carpool cost sharing.
We will meet at 9:00am at Hunters Glen Lake Park, 1236 E 130th Ave, Thornton, CO 80241 https://maps.app.goo.gl/3q6LZm986xKkpXEx7 We will then carpool to our starting spot in King Ranch Park near the intersection of Spruce St and Tamarac St in Thornton.
Required Equipment
Dress appropriately for the weather, including sunscreen and a hat. Bring a snack/lunch and plenty of water.
