The DOT is a walking route that makes a full circle around Denver.  We are hiking segment 24.  We will mainly be on the Big Dry Creek Trail.  We’ll go by the Westminster Promenade, near the Butterfly Pavilion, under Highway 36 and under Wadsworth Parkway.   Here is the link to the map of Segment 24: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/dot-segment-24-front-range-community-college-to-wadsworth-parkway We will be on paved paths and sidewalks for all of this hike.  There are a couple of bathrooms along the way.

This route is exploratory for the trip leaders.

Optional adventure post-hike:  Since this is a short hike and we will be near the Butterfly Pavilion, those who are interested can visit after the hike.  Admission is $17.45 for adults and $15.45 for 65+.  We don’t have to buy advanced tickets.  https://butterflies.org/visit/visitor-information

Carpool: Since the distance between trailheads is short and half of us will be driving, there will be no carpool cost sharing.

We will meet at 9:00am at the Big Dry Creek trail head & parking, 9737 Wadsworth Blvd, Westminster, CO 80021. https://maps.app.goo.gl/TRL9aC78wzh5no1E6  We will then carpool to our starting spot at Big Dry Creek Open Space.
