Hiking – Raspberry Mountain

Hike Raspberry Mountain from the Ring the Peak trail in Divide. Well established trail with rolling ascending terrain with some steeper areas of ascent with the hike culminating with a short scramble up to the rocky summit that has beautiful views, 5 miles, 1200' gain, moderate hike.

This is a beautiful fall hike with great views from the summit of Raspberry Mountain at 10,600'.  The temperature in the early morning can be on the cool side with temps warming later in the early afternoon. As is still common in September, there likely will be a chance of a thunderstorm after 12pm noon.

Preference for hike registration will be given to Pueblo and Colorado Springs CMC group members. If I have not had the pleasure of hiking with you previously, please email me by Thursday evening on Sept 18th to let me know of any medical condition that I should be aware of and the distance & gain of hikes you have completed in the last 2 months.

Depending on the wishes of the group, we may stop for an after hike celebratory libation or meal in Divide, Woodland Park or Colorado Springs.

An email with further details of the hike including weather forecast will be emailed to hike registrants the afternoon or early evening of Friday, September 19th.

Pueblo participants will meet for a 6:30 am departure in the Southeast corner of the Albertson's parking lot at 1601 US 50 in Pueblo 81008 and Colorado Springs participants will meet at the Southeast corner of the Safeway parking lot at 3275 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs 80904 for a 7:15 am departure with the goal of an 8:00 am hike departure at the Raspberry Mountain trailhead. The hike starts at the trailhead.

Required Equipment

Wear layers to accomodate for temperature change, sturdy hiking boots with good traction, and a hat for sun protection. Bring hiking poles that will be useful for steeper sections of the trail, an outer jacket to protect from the chance of wind &/or rain, 2L of water or the amount you need to stay hydrated, snacks for the trail, lunch to be eaten on the summit weather permitting, and the other 10 essentials.
