Welcome to Rise & Grind, the CMC Boulder Group’s morning hiking and coffee series.  Our objective is to start our day off right with some exercise, good company and a little mindfulness.  In addition to the hike itself, we’ll pause on the summit for a moment of silent reflection and set our intentions for the day.  Afterward there will be an optional stop for coffee, symbolizing a fresh start and the energy needed to conquer the day.

This morning's Rise & Grind will explore the Bon Scott Trail off Lefthand Canyon in Roosevelt National Forest.  The route will ascend approximately 1,500 feet over 6.0 miles round trip.  The trip should take between two and three hours.

This hike focuses on the GRIND in Rise & Grind.  This will be a fast-paced, challenging hike without rest stops and is not appropriate for beginner hikers. You should be comfortable hiking at a fast (2.5mph/24 min/mile) pace and climbing more than 1,000 feet in under one mile at a strong (2.0 mph or 30 min/mile) pace without significant breaks. This will be a before-work hike for some participants, so it’s important that we maintain our pace and finish promptly so folks can get to work on time.  Please know your own abilities and be considerate of the rest of the group when you sign up.
