Colorado Mountain Club - Boulder Group

Nestled at the doorstep of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks, including Chautauqua and the iconic Flatirons, the Boulder Group is perfectly positioned for adventure. With easy access to Brainard Lake, the Indian Peaks Wilderness, nearby national forests, and Rocky Mountain National Park, our community comes together to explore Colorado’s outdoors through volunteer-led trips, skills courses, social gatherings, and conservation projects. Whether you’re greeting the sunrise on a trail or enjoying a quiet moment under the stars, there’s room to move at your own pace and connect along the way.

The Boulder Group also maintains and operates two backcountry cabins under a Special Use Permit from the U.S. Forest Service. These cabins offer unique opportunities to experience Colorado’s high country more deeply. Learn more and make reservations here.

Group trips and events include:

  • Rise & Grind morning hiking and coffee series.
  • Ascending Hike Series progressive hike series for beginner hikers.
  • Hiker Happy Hour after work hikes.
  • Indoor Climb Night at Boulder Rock Club.
  • Sunrise Uphill ski trips to Eldora (winter only).
  • Monthly Socials to meet and socialize with members.
  • Conservation Activities to give back to our local spaces.
  • Annual Dinner to celebrate our community.

You’ll find all this and a whole lot more on the Boulder Group Trip Calendar.

Courses: Our courses are designed to meet you where you are and take you where you want to go. Offerings range from single-day skill refreshers to immersive, multi-month programs, depending on the course.
