Welcome to Rise & Grind – Guest Leader Edition, the CMC Boulder Group’s morning hiking and coffee series.  Our objective is to start our day off right with some exercise, good company and a little mindfulness.  In addition to the hike itself, we’ll pause on the summit for a moment of silent reflection and set our intentions for the day.  Afterward there will be an optional stop for coffee, symbolizing a fresh start and the energy needed to conquer the day. While Christopher is offline, the Guest Leader Edition will feature various guest trip leaders.

At the start of this R&G, we’ll meet Curtis, the self-proclaimed Mad Hatter of Sanitas. Curtis gives out Mnt Sanitas hats – for free – as he hikes. We’ll meet him and hear his story. If you already have one of his hats, wear it on this hike!

The hike: Our 3.2 mile loop will take us up the Mnt Sanitas Trail, down the East Ridge Trail and back via the Sanitas Valley Trail.

Please note, while modest distance, this is a challenging hike due to the steep climb and rocky, switchback-free trail. This is a before-work hike for some participants, so it’s important that we maintain our pace and finish promptly so folks can get to work on time.  Please know your own abilities and be considerate of the rest of the group when you sign up.

Notable Recognition: The Rise and Grind hike series was created and implemented by Christopher Murphy. All credit and appreciation to him.

Meet at 7:00am, for a 7:05 start. Details and directions in pre-trip email.
