Hiking – Saint Charles Peak
The hike for Sunday 10/6 will be an out-and-back climb from the St. Charles trailhead on Colo. 165 to St. Charles Peak. The hike was initially planned for June 29th but cancelled due to the fire in the area.

It will be a moderately challenging hike – about 9 miles RT with 2700 feet of gain. The peak is at 11,791 feet.
Leader permission is required, If the hike should fill, preference will be given to El Pueblo and Pikes Peak group members. Please let me know by email or text (719 744 7840) if you would like to go. If I have not had the pleasure of hiking with you before, I will want to know the distance and gain of hikes you have done in the last 2 months.
If desired, bring a camping chair and libation of choice for an after-hike celebration at the parking area.
Pueblo and other Southern Colorado participants will meet for a 7am departure from the parking lot in the small strip mall that is located to the west of the Loaf N’ Jug on the corner of Lake Ave and Pueblo Blvd in Pueblo (1201 W. Pueblo Blvd, 81005). From there we will carpool or caravan to the St. Charles Trailhead on Colorado 165, 4 miles north of San Isabel. Alternatively, participants can meet at the trailhead at 7:45.
Required Equipment
Plan for snacks/lunch on the trail. Wear layers and bring the 10 essentials and 2 liters of water.
