Welcome to High Peaks Hooky, a weekday hiking series where we encourage you to come up with your best excuse, lie to your parents (or partner), call out sick from school (or work) and come hike instead.  As Ferris says, "Life moves pretty fast.  If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Today we'll hike Saint Vrain Mountain on the border of Indian Peaks and Rocky Mountain National Park.  The route will ascend approximately 3,250 feet over 8.9 miles.  The trip should take between four and five hours.

Expect to move at a steady (2.0 mph or 30 min/mile) pace with minimal stops until we reach the summit.  There may be some rock hopping and light (class 2+) scrambling at the summits.  Please assess your abilities and ensure you can achieve the trip objectives before registering.

Meetup time will be 6:45am, leaving at 7:00am sharp; please be on time.

Details, directions and carpool options will be emailed to registered participants.
