Hiking – Stanley Mountain from the Jones Pass Trailhead

This is a really fun hike through some absolutely gorgeous mountain scenery, but it's a steady uphill hike. This mountain has a broad, walkable summit above tree line with 360 degree views of Engelmann, Parnassus, Vasquez, Mines, and Woods.

We'll be leaving from the Jones Pass trailhead, which is lower than the Berthoud Pass trailhead. So we'll be hiking a ways through forest before we reach treeline. Highlights of this hike include stunning views and beautiful wildflowers. Challenges are a steady uphill climb and mine noise throughout the hike.

Please plan for approximately 5-6 hours on the trail depending on the group, rest stops, and lunch.

CMC suggests that all occupants of a vehicle share the costs of driving. Based on a reimbursement rate of $0.34 per mile, the total amount for the 76-mile roundtrip drive is about $26 per vehicle. This cost typically is divided by the total number of people in the vehicle, including the driver.

This is a CMC Bobcats trip, but everyone is welcome. The Bobcats’ mission is to ensure a variety of adventurous CMC trips, mostly on weekdays, all year long. Our trips tend to be faster-paced, on more challenging routes, and with fewer stops. We foster a strong community of hikers seeking challenge, discovery, and camaraderie. We don’t have dues or elections and we invite ALL CMC members to sign up for any Bobcat trip.
