Let's enjoy an early morning out-n-back hike up to the Twin Sisters peaks in RMNP (we will not be hiking to the third sister). We'll enjoy panoramic views which will include nearby Longs Peak and Mount Meeker. We'll encounter lots of rocks on this trail, so I am recommending you have hiking poles handy (if this is your comfort level). It may be a bit breezy above tree level.
We'll plan to summit the West Sister (the easier of the two), and for those of you comfortable with scrambling, you are also welcome to summit the nearby East Sister. There will be some large boulders on the approach to the east summit, and you may need to use your hands to pull yourself up. I expect this hike will take 4-5 hours.
We'll begin this hike at 9,200 feet in elevation. Please consider if this hike is right for you.
I'll send the GPX and PDF files for this hike in my hiker email. I look forward to hiking with you!
If you'd like to carpool, we'll plan to depart the Lyons Visitor Center at 6:00 a.m. I can take 3 people, possibly 4, in my car.
In order to keep our elevation around 2,200 and at a distance of 6.5 miles (this includes both sisters), we'll plan to park near the trailhead (Serenity Ln gravel road - park on right side).
Although this hike is in RMNP, we will not need a timed entry permit as there is no entrance station at this location. I'll provide more details (directions, trailhead, weather, etc.) in my email to hikers.
After short introductions, we'll begin our hike at 6:45 a.m.
