The trip begins at the Lily Lake trailhead. If the gate is open, we will drive further up the road. The trail climbs steadily and crosses the huge landslide visible from the road before reaching a saddle. Soon we reach treeline where views abound. We will see evidence of communication gear and a fire tower near the summits. We plan to summit West, East, and then South Sister.

This is an out and back hike with a little variation from the trailless South Sister to return to the trail.

Meet for a 5:30 am departure at the Clear Creek Parking Lot, 304 10th St, Golden, CO 80401.  Drive time to the Twin Sisters Trailhead is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Alternative meeting spot is Sandstone Park in Lyons at 6:30.

If you chose to meet at the trailhead, please notify the trip leaders ahead of time and plan to arrive by 7:00 am.

There is a restroom at the trailhead.
