This hike will be more of a saunter than a hike. This includes plenty of time to play along the water in the canyon.
The group will meet at 8:00 AM on Saturday, August 23rd at the West Mancos Overlook near the Transfer Campground. The hike will begin at 8:30 AM. The West Mancos Creek Loop begins on the Rim Trail, at the sign board at the West Mancos Overlook - which you pass driving into the parking area. Here is another stunning view of the La Platas and Herperus Mountain, one of the sacred mountains for many indigenous peoples.
