Hiking – Wombat Arch
Wombat Arch is a natural arch located in the BLM Bangs Canyon Management Area near Grand Junction, Colorado. The early start of this hike includes following a short section of primitive trail that requires some scrambling. It is a moderate hike of 3.2 miles and 400 feet of elevation gain. We plan to complete this hike by 11:00 am, prior to the heat of the day.

We will meet at the trailhead at 7:30 am of this hike. Consider carpooling to the trailhead, which is located near Grand Junction, CO.
Directions to Trailhead: From Grand Junction, travel south on US highway 50 towards Delta/Montrose. At approximately 9 miles, turn right onto CO highway 141 S toward Gateway. The trailhead is found approximately 1.4 miles from US highway 50, prior to the East Creek bridge. There is a large dirt parking area just past the bridge on the left side of the road. There no bathroom facilities at the trailhead.
Required Equipment
Bring the Ten Essentials, plenty of water. There will be some hiking on slick rock and loose soils, thus hiking shoes or boots are recommended. Consider bringing trekking poles.
