Octo Hike – Burning Bear Trail

This is an Octogenarian (Octo) Hike and a Leader-in-Training trip for John Gode. Octo hikes are for those who have aged out of normal CMC hikes, or anyone who finds CMC's traditional Easy hikes more than they want or can do. Octo Hikes are slower paced, have shorter distances, less elevation gain, and more frequent stops than typical Easy A hikes. Octo Hikes typically include a stop for snacks at picnic tables, when available, or social lunch at a local cafe after the hike (details TBD.) This gentle hike begins at the east end of the trail from Guanella Pass Rd to follow Geneva Creek, then Burning Bear Creek through a lodge pole forest to an old cabin at about 2.5 miles.
