Octo Hike – Sandstone Ranch Open Space
Octo Hikes have a slower pace, shorter mileage, less elevation gain, and more frequent stops then typical CMC Easy A hikes. On most Octo Hikes we also stop for a social lunch after the hike. You need not be an Octogenarian to join this hike. Just be aware the travel pace will be slower with more breaks.

This Douglas County Open Space features awesome sandstone formations. The Open Space has two loops. Participants may elect to do one or both.
Due to the higher number of participants we will break the group into two allowing one group to start on the upper loop and one to start on the lower loop. There will be two leaders with each group.
Mileage of about 6 miles is for both loops. Participants may elect to do one loop or both.
There are bathrooms at the TH.
This Open Space allows horses and several times we have met volunteer patrollers on horseback.
There is a covered pavilion where we can eat lunch.
Cabelas far east parking area at 8:30 am. Please arrive earlier to form carpools.
