RMOTHG Trip – Berrian Mountain
This is a pretty little hike!!! It's located north of Meyers Ranch. It is part of Denver Mountain Parks. We will hike to the Berrian Pinnacle, not the actual summit of Berrian Mountain as it is heavily forested and there are no views on top. Views from the pinnacle include; the Castle to the south, a stunning up-close view of Mount Blue Sky, the Indian Peaks and Longs Peak to the north. We will walk through an open forest with some cool rock outcroppings at the beginning of the trail. There is no scrambling required to get to the top of the Pinnacle. When I scouted, we found a break in the rock to walk up.

We will hike up a little cleft/drainage type area to get to the top of the pinnacle. We'll have to pick our way around some rock, but it's almost not worth mentioning. I have a fear of heights and it just didn't even come close to bothering me!!!
If the weather forecast is correct, we will need to be back at the cars by at least noon as storms will be rolling in. This should be no problem as we've got an early start. If it looks really bad, we can always cut this trip short and just hike it as an out-and-back (2.7 miles).
You MUST be willing to carpool we will be taking 3 cars maximum.*
