Snowshoeing or Microspiking from Naylor Lake parking area up Guanella Pass Road. Get acquainted trip for Vance's Cabin participants but open to all RMOTHG members.

This is primarily a training / get acquainted hike for the participants of the upcoming Vance’s Cabin trip, but is open to all RMOTHG members. A snowshoe hike to Guanella Pass in Arapaho National Forest promises an enchanting winter escapade amidst the majestic Rockies. Beginning at the winter road closure at the Naylor Lake parking lot, we’ll microspike or snowshoe (depending on conditions) along the closed section of Guanella Pass Road. This route affords great views of the surrounding high peaks, including Mount Bierstadt and Mount Blue Sky. We'll find a comfortable spot for snack/lunch. We'll return to the parking lot by the same route. Our pace will accommodate all participants. Overall, ~4 miles and 800 ft elevation gain. (Guanella Pass - Snowshoe - CalTopo)

Carpool Place & Time: Meet at the Wooly Mammoth PnR, Section BB, at 7:30AM, for a 7:45AM departure (Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride - Google Maps)
