RMOTHG Trip – Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond is a beautiful Alpine lake above Alice near St. Marys. There is an up-close beautiful view of Mount Bancroft and a more distant view of Mount Blue Sky to the south. Make sure you read Leader's Notes below!!!

  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,700 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 11,970 ft
  • Pace: Casual Up, Moderate Down

The plan is to hike up to Loch Lomond and continue on to the northeast above the lake, for even more gorgeous views!!!  So far the weather report is favorable with only 10-16mph wind forecast.  However, this is a notoriously windy area, especially in the winter and the forecast could change as we get closer to our hike date.  I will be scouting this Sunday to make sure parking is adequate and to make sure we don't need snowshoes.  If we do need snowshoes, I will shorten the route.  If there are any issues, I will change where we will be hiking.
