RMOTHG Trip – Orbital Trail - Segment 3

For Rocky Mountain Over the Hill Gang members ONLY before the RMOTHG picnic. We will hike segment 3 of the Denver Orbital Trail (DOT) – downtown Morrison to the Bear Creek Lake Reservoir and then around the reservoir to the location of the RMOTHG picnic.

The DOT is a walking route that makes a full circle around Denver.  Segment 3 starts in Morrison and goes into Bear Creek Lake Park. 

We’ll take Bear Creek Trail into the park.  We’ll take the Owl trail to the Fitness trail to the Cottonwood trail to the Connector trail to the reservoir.  We’ll then take the Fisherman’s trail around the reservoir to the Mountain View Picnic Shelter.  If we’ve timed it right, we’ll get back right in time for the picnic!

We will meet at 10:00am at the Mountain View Picnic Shelter parking lot in Bear Creek Lake Park, 15600 W Morrison Parking.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/bCftdLdSHJSSjxTn8 We will take a very brief carpool to our starting spot, Morrison Park.

You must be a RMOTHG member ($15 dues annually) to sign up for this hike.  If you are not a member, please call the office at 303-279-3080 ext 3 or email office@cmc.org to add this section to your CMC membership.  If you are a RMOTHG member and you are having trouble signing up for the hike, please let Suzanne, your trip leader, know.

Bring clothes/layers appropriate for the weather, sunscreen & water.
