We will climb Pooka wall routes, specifically 'King's Landing' - ranging from 5.4-5.9-. This area is great for beginners. Short routes and there is some limited shade under large pine trees. The base is very accommodating, but will still require vigilance with any really young climbers. We will wrap up by 3:30p.

The approach involves a 15 minute hike up well-defined trails. The general elevation (Staunton is just shy of ~9,000 ft.) gets your heart moving, but it is an overall smooth and easy approach with minimal elevation gain.

No dogs please. Kids of all ages welcome. "Family" is defined as 1-2 parents with their 1 or more kids ages 17 and younger. No solo adults nor unaccompanied children. All must be registered and have a current waiver completed. Contact the leader(s) with any questions or difficulty registering - no worries, we're in it together!

Bring your helmet, harness, shoes, belay device and any climbing gear you have such as rope, draws, quad, etc. Snacks for the kids of course, and plenty of water and sunscreen. Leading is encouraged and the trip leaders will also setup top ropes, so all are welcome to just top rope.
