Exploratory scramble of one of two traverses (or a combination) on Mount Audubon depending on group preference - either the Class 3 Audubon-Paiute Traverse or Class 3 SE ridge from Mitchell Lake.

Red tape: Participants will need to secure a 5AM timed entry permit for Brainard Lake Recreation Area - permits will be available on 7/31/25. TL will plan to secure one permit and a carpool option will be available for at least one vehicle from Gateway/Winter TH.
Group will meet at the Brainard Lake Recreation Area Gateway/Winter TH for a TBD "Alpine Start" early AM on Aug. 8 and proceed into the Mitchell Lake TH to start the climb (see note about time entry permit in section below). Participants are encouraged to arrange carpool to Brainard Lake area from locations closer to their homes. Start time will be early given length of traverses and relative exposure to weather.

Required Equipment
Suitable footwear for scrambling Class 3 rock, rock helmet, suitable clothing for variable alpine weather conditions, food/water, and a radio (if you own one).
