Baldy Mountain in Grand Canyon Hills on South Rim of Royal Gorge
Easy / moderate climb to Baldy Mountain (6817' elevation, ~1000' gain. There are great views of the Royal Gorge from the summit. The last ½ mile of climb is off trail.
Hike begins at BLM Route 6100 (Grand Canyon Hills Road) off Fremont County Route 3. It then follows 6100 north and east over rolling hills to 6100E (about 2 3/4 mi), follows 6100 north and west, then climbs off trail 1/2 mile north to the broad peak of Baldy Mountain. The area is open to motor vehicles.
