BPX 2-Day: Betty and Bob Lakes from Hessie TH

The journey to Betty and Bob Lakes begins at the Hessie TH near Nederland and follows the King Lake Trail for 6.0 miles to Betty Lake. These picturesque lakes rest against the eastern slopes of the Continental Divide in the heart of the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

This two-day, one-night backpacking adventure offers a remarkable blend of scenic beauty and diverse terrain. For much of the hike, you'll find yourself winding through tranquil forests, but as you approach the final mile and a half, the landscape transforms. Emerging above the timberline, you'll be greeted by sweeping views of the Continental Divide, the impressive Skyscraper Glacier, and remnants of the historic road and train tracks leading to Rollins Pass. The combination of forested trails and dramatic alpine scenery makes this trek a memorable experience for outdoor enthusiasts.
