Hassell Peak

Hike begins at the Urad Mine near Empire. 3,900 ft of elevation, 12 miles.

From Urad mine parking area, follow the trail that parallels Woods Creek. We will be close to, but not visit, Hassell Lake on the up climb, you may choose to make a brief stop there on the return journey. Once you reach the saddle above Hassell Lake, take the west ridge to approx 13,000ft. Your destination will soon be in range, about 0.5 miles away.  On the return, go north and then east until you reach the valley floor, gaining elevation to meet the saddle above Hassell Lake for the second time.  Returning from the saddle to your car after a visit to Hassell Lake or not.
