Leyden Creek Trail (Lower) Pattridge Park
A short and easy, nearly-on-the-flat out-and-back urban nature trail. Located in the town of Arvada's Pattridge Park Open Space, south of the Leyden residential area, paralleling Leyden Creek and 82nd Avenue in west Arvada.
About 1.3 miles one-way, give-or-take (and thus 2.6 miles as an out-and-back); this leisurely, nearly-on-the-flat urban nature trail offers a nice alternative to the often busy trails closer to Boulder. From the trail, you get a nice view of the foothills between Golden and Boulder, and open grassland low foothills up to an overlooking ridge. (Optionally, one can extend one's course to climb steeply up to the ridge, making a loop back to the origin point.)
Trailhead Location:
From Denver, take I-70 W to Hwy 58 to Golden. Turn north onto Hwy 93 and turn right on W 82nd Ave. The dirt entrance to the parking area and trailhead is 0.9 miles to the east, on the right.
From Boulder, take Hwy 93 south and turn left on West 82nd Avenue. The dirt entrance to the parking lot and trailhead is 0.9 miles to the east, on the right.
