Hiking – Hike the Homer Rouse trail to Lily Lake and up to the "Edge of Time" climbing rock in nearby Jurassic Park.

This was a fun hike of the Homer Rouse trail to Lily Lake and up to the "Edge of Time" climbing rock in nearby Jurassic Park. The steep ascent to the Jurassic Park area was on more difficult rocky terrain than the first portion of the hike.

  • We parked our 3 cars alongside of the road near the end of Fish Creek Falls Road, with no issues.

Beautiful weather made this fun hike a great time for everyone as we hiked from the north end of the Homer Rouse trail near Estes Park up to Lily Lake.  We had a quick snack at the lake before hiking along the north side of the lake to the steep, rocky .6 mile trail up to the Jurassic Park rock climbing area.  Everyone enjoyed watching the climbers on the impressive "Edge of Time" rock as we ate lunch.  Some of our group hiked up to a higher viewpoint on a large rock nearby.  We then descended carefully down to Lily Lake and hiked around the opposite side back to the parking lot.  Then, we crossed Hwy. 7 and retraced our steps on the Homer Rouse trail back to the TH.  Great time for this group!
