Hiking – Sniktau & Cupid via Loveland Pass

Entire trip is above tree line. Views to the east & west as far as you can see. Nice for sitting up on the summit identifying peaks all around you. This hike is good for preparing your lungs for higher summits.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Excellent road conditions.

One note to myself is when there is snow on the shortcut from Cupid to the cars, if it is hard to get your foot to purchase, and you don’t have a nice ax do not take this way. Stay on the ridge.

We arrived at 7:30 and there was no wind. We proceeded to no name PEAK and chose to do Sniktau first.

There were 6 Hikers we saw in Summiting Sniktau. The Snow was hard and windblown. Some lighter weight hikers in our group stayed on top of the snow while others sunk in 2 1/2 feet and needed to post hole. Spikes and gators were very helpful. On that summit, we picked up a friendly hiker from Southern Brazil and hiked Cupid with him. Richard Schiebel in our group had not slept well and decided to return to the cars with Gary.
