Dolores River Canyon Country presentation
The Western Slope Group of Colorado Mountain Club is hosting a presentation by Scott Braden, Director of Colorado Wildlands Project, followed by a Q and A session. The presentation will address the proposed national monument for public lands surrounding the Dolores River in Mesa and Montrose counties. Colorado Wildlands Project is part of a coalition of conservation, community and business groups with a vision to conserve the outstanding ecological, recreational, historical and cultural resources found in this region.
Pulk (winter sled) seminar
Do you participate in hut-, ice climbing-, or winter camping-trips? Carrying the bulky and heavy gear required for winter activities or multi-day trips in the mountains has always been difficult. Pulks now find popular use in winter trips in Colorado. This seminar by speaker Ron Stokley will briefly cover the history of pulks as well as the features-of and considerations-for a good sled.
