Become a Trip Leader for WSG!
There are four easy steps to becoming a CMC Trip Leader. This process is recognized State-wide. Once you are a trip leader for the WSG, you can lead trips for any group in the State!
Step 1: Self-Paced online course to learn the ins and outs of Trip Leading. Click here to register for the course. Set aside a few hours and complete the course at your earliest convivence.
Step 2: Upon completion of the online course, you will receive an email with a promo code to enroll in a free Wilderness First Aid course. (If you have difficulty finding a course in your area, contact your Trip Leader Support volunteer with the WSG)
Step 3: Sign up for a Scenario Session to discuss possible situations and the proper actions to take on trips.
Step 4: Contact any WSG Trip Leader to be your MENTOR LEADER and co-lead your first trip! Called a "Leader in Training Trip" or LIT, this is the last step in demonstrating your skills and preparing yourself to lead trips on your own.
You will receive your Trip Leader Badge and be on your way to leading your own trips!
