Schools & Classes

Colorado Mountain Club has over 250 courses, classes, and schools that cover a wide variety of disciplines and are welcoming no matter your skill level. These courses and seminars range in intensity to fit your schedule - we have seminars that last just a few hours, or courses that cover several months with both classroom sessions as well as field days. We are here to help you acheive your mountain goals, whatever your next "summit" may be. For CMC leaders to learn about how to schedule and manage our activities, courses, clinics, seminars, and events. This online manual explains definitions, scheduling, and management tips. It is our primary website user resource.

Badges

Badges are an electronic marker tied to your profile that denote courses taken, skills gained, benchmarks achieved, awards bestowed, and a host of administrative purposes. Badges can be gained through taking courses, or achieving other milestones in the Colorado Mountain Club.

Backcountry Film Fest Backcountry Film Fest

CMC partners with Winter Wildlands Alliance to host Backcountry Film Festival screenings across Colorado each winter. All proceeds support CMC's Conservation Programs, including our Snow Rangers and snowsports advocacy work.

Groups & Sections

CMC is organized into regional chapters or Groups across the state. When you become CMC member, you can join the Group of your choice. Each CMC Group provides outdoor recreation opportunities, skill building schools, and other social activities that customize your experience to your local geography and community. The Group you choose will provide the majority of Club services you receive, however, the activities of any CMC Group are open to members regardless of group affiliation.
