The Boulder Group runs from Sunrise to Moonlight with mindful pauses in between.

Colorado Mountain Club - Boulder Group

The Boulder Group seeks to foster community, connect with the outdoors and give back to nature.

Situated in close proximity to Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks, including Chautauqua and the iconic Flatirons, Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Indian Peaks Wilderness, Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests and Rocky Mountain National Park, the Boulder Group offers volunteer-led trips, classes, social events and conservation activities from sunrise to moonlight with mindful pauses in between.

The Boulder Group also maintains & operates two backcountry cabins, in accordance with the terms of a Special Use Permit issued by the US Forest Service.  More information and cabin reservations are available here.

Recurring Group Trips Include:

  • Rise & Grind morning hiking and coffee series.
  • Hiker Happy Hour after work hikes.
  • Women & Nonbinary social hikes.
  • Fitness morning hikes.
  • Indoor Climb Night at Boulder Rock Club.
  • Flatiron Scrambles (spring-fall only).
  • High Peaks Hooky weekday summit series (spring-fall only).
  • Sunrise Uphill ski trips to Eldora (winter only).

Classes:

  • Boulder Scrambling Academy - coming Spring 2025!
  • Boulder Mountaineering School (established in 1947) for members interested developing more technical mountaineering skills, now being offered in partnership with the Denver Group’s Technical Climbing School.
